Artist Introduction

Upul Seneviratne is a graduate of the University of Visual & Performing Arts, Sri Lanka, where he completed his Fine Arts degree in 1990. From 1984 to 1989, he actively participated in several group exhibitions, marking the early foundation of his artistic journey. During 1987–1990, he served as a part-time artist at the National Museum of Sri Lanka, gaining valuable experience in both artistic practice and cultural heritage. In 1992, he moved to Vietnam and was engaged in the textile industry until 2024. Alongside his professional commitments, he continued an unwavering dedication to art. For more than three decades, he studied and experimented with diverse techniques, constantly exploring new approaches to abstraction. His work seeks to engage the viewer’s inner world through the expressive power of color, human forms, faces, light, and movement. Throughout these years, he has sketched thousands of figures, landscapes, and scenes of human activity, deepening his visual language and artistic sensitivity.

This exhibition marks his first solo presentation after over thirty years of artistic exploration—a culmination of reflection, experimentation, and devotion. The works presented reveal multiple perspectives on humanity and its emotions, expressed through the dynamic interplay of color, shape, and light.
